Vista

When Macaos starts it downloads the update and seems to install it. It then tells me it needs to restart. If I click OK it just closes, it does not restart. If I start it again it want to download the update again. Is this a problem related to Vista and is there a workaround?

Re: Vista

Hi.
I'm going to put something about this in the FAQ. The problems I know of is related to that the Program Files folder is not writable for ordinary users.
I've logged this as an issue to our bug tracker (#0000569) to investigate what we can do about this.
As a workaround you can try to make the Macaos Enterprise folder writable for your user (you probably need to login as administrator to do this).

Bingo!

I first removed the read only attribute form the folder but that was not enough. (Right click on folder and uncheck "Read-only" on "General tab")
I then gave all users full access to the macaos folder and it did the trick.
(Right click on folder and look at the "Security" tab. Click the "Edit..." button, select a user/usergroup and check "full control". I gave both "CREATOR OWNER" and "Users (machinename\Users)" "full control" but I'm not certain which one of these users/usergroupes that needs the permission)

Great!

Giving it to your own user and administrators should be enough.
That being said I had trouble getting it to work like this for a normal user.
I noticed though that it is enough to right-click on the shortcut/exe file and select run as administrator and it will upgrade just fine.
So I will put that in the FAQ as a recommended workaround until I can find a better solution.
